Newport Mansion Hill

Developed for residential use in the 1890s, Newport’s Mansion Hill/East Row neighborhood was home to many of Newport’s wealthiest residents, including the Wiedemann beer baron’s son, George Wiedemann, Jr., as well as the Beaux Arts Building, designed by noted Cincinnati architect Samuel Hannaford. The neighborhood’s name comes from the 1840s-built James Taylor Mansion. The historic homes in Mansion Hill have the benefit of being within walking distance of Newport’s revitalized arts and entertainment districts, as well as Covington and downtown Cincinnati.

Many of the historic homes in Mansion Hill are exquisite examples of Queen Anne Victorian architecture, along with Italianate Victorian, Victorian Vernacular, and some early Arts and Crafts foursquares. These homes were built from 1870 to 1920 and range in price from $200,000 to $1,800,000.
