Incorporated in 1896 by businessmen who wanted to create a community exclusively for the wealthy, Hyde Park has kept its upper-class and meticulously well maintained image since its inception. The neighborhood is dedicated to comfortable and safe urban residential living, with many convenient, upscale restaurants and boutiques in and near Hyde Park Square, and notably no factories within the neighborhood boundaries. A self- contained, walkable residential neighborhood, Hyde Park is also convenient to downtown and to Interstates 71 and 75. It was named one of “America’s Best Neighborhoods,” in 2010 by Forbes.
Historic Homes in Hyde Park tend to be Arts and Crafts architecture, including colonials, foursquares, and bungalows, with some Tudor Revival and late Victorian homes. Built from 1900 to 1935, prices range from $250,000 to $3,650,000.
