A neighborhood of Covington, Kentucky, Latonia is historically known for the resort Lettonia Springs, with natural mineral springs that derived its name from the Greek goddess Latona. The Latonia Racetrack opened in 1883 and for many years rivaled the Kentucky Derby. The city was incorporated in 1896 and later annexed as a neighborhood of Covington in 1908. Today, Latonia is one of Covington’s largest neighborhoods, with a variety of businesses, historic residences and more modern ones built during the New Deal era.
Latonia’s homes range from $75,000 to $250,000 and are mostly Vernacular Victorians and Arts and Crafts bungalows.
