Imogene, the wife of the famous Cincinnati bootlegger George Remus, is said to haunt the gazebo overlooking Mirror Lake in Cincinnati’s Eden Park.  The gazebo is the oldest of Cincinnati Parks’ structures, designed by Cornelius M. Foster in 1904 in a style reminiscent of Moorish architecture. Some say that Remus was the inspiration for the title character Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald–he is also represented by the character of the same name in the series Boardwalk Empire. Remus killed Imogene on October 6, 1927 after a wild car chase into Eden Park. All Imogene did was file for divorce from him.

It has been said that there is a ghost that haunts the 20th Century Theater in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Oakley. Recently renovated, this Art Moderne theatre is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The building first opened in 1941 and showed movies until 1983. The ghost is that of an old projectionist who dropped dead in the booth. Who do you think gets the blame for problems with the projector and other mysterious sounds around the theater?
